More About Selina Kanagasuriam

As a South Asian Canadian, I have been shaped by a rich tapestry of cultures and spiritualities that have infused my life with diversity and a deep appreciation for the human experience. With a holistic approach, I am committed to helping others on their journey towards self-improvement and fulfillment.

Having grown up navigating the complexities of acculturation, discrimination, family conflicts, and adjustment, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges many individuals face. I am passionate about supporting and empowering those who seek to become the best versions of themselves, and I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients.

In my counseling practice, I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Humanistic approaches. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client, recognizing that everyone’s journey is different.

In addition to my professional work, I am an active volunteer, dedicating my time and skills to working with youth and children over the age of 10. I am passionate about helping young individuals navigate the challenges of adolescence and supporting them in their personal growth and development.

I believe that life is a continuous journey of growth and self-discovery, and I am committed to walking alongside my clients as they explore their own paths. With a caring, supportive, and non-judgmental mindset, I am dedicated to helping individuals embrace their diverse identities, overcome challenges, and cultivate a fulfilling life.
